I ordered two new sports bras from Title 9. I have the Frog bra, but it is not wicking and that drives me nuts. I ordered the three reasons bra and the trilogy bra. Hopefully they come by my race next week to try out. I think most of title 9's clothes are way overprices, but they have the best bra selection/descriptions, etc.

The three reasons bra is actually the Moving Comfort Fiona bra, which is my current favorite. I buy it on the cheap at campmor.com.
I think you'll like it.

Is the Fiona Bra the one with the adjustable straps? If so it's the one I have that I like, either that or the Maia (did I spell that right?). Whichever one has the adjustable straps. That and the Enell which makes sure nothing moves At. All.
The Jockey and Champion bras I have are ok for runs of 5 miles or less. Anything more and there is major chafing of delicate booby bits where the scoop of the bra rests.

The fiona has the adjustable straps, which is what I love about it. It's exactly what I need, since I have a short torso.

I have one of each, and I didn't like the underwire in the Maia, or whateverthehell it's called. It was uncomfortable on me, poked after a while of running. Of course, you don't know that until you sweat in it.

I originally had maias, and thought they were great till I tried the fiona.
They were fine on short runs, but not so much on longer runs.

So, I wore the 3 reasons/Fiona bra over the weekend. It felt great and supportive, but the place where you adjust the straps rubbed my collar bone and the latch on the back could be a potential problem in the future. Prior to running i thought the fit was stellar. I am wondering if i could wear another bra under it to prevent chaffing/rubbing. Boohoo. This will be a bra for stairstepping or the elliptical now.

I'm just a guy, but why do they have bra's names based on the number 3?

because you asked:
3 Reasons Support Bra
As far as we can tell, there are at least 3 reasons to buy this bra: First, the adjustable straps and back closure make this our most customizable bra, which translates to a better fit for you. 2nd: the super support this bra offers will keep D and DD cups from bouncing, even in high impact activity. 3rd: this bra will keep you cool and dry, with wicking fabrics throughout.

The hooks in the back worried me, but haven't caused any problems for me yet. Maybe your back is flatter than mine? :D
The straps leave indents on me, but I bodyglide under them and haven't had any issues. (yet)
Sorry it didn't work out for you. :(

it was the velcro area that annoyed me. It felt great when i was not running! i will still use it, just not for long distance running.

I also wear the Fiona (and love it). I use a bit of Body Glide where the strap fastens to the velcro.
It helps.

I can't wear anything but Enell! Pricey, but totally worth it. Plus, they last forever and a day. Not too purty, but there's gratitude from the boobage.

QN, Dude, or 1 for those transitioning. I can wear the Fiona and the champion but the Enell is the very best one to wear for larger loads. When I said nothing moves, I meant nothing. moves.
meri, have you tried one yet?
merigayle
03-09-2007, 07:31 PM
no, i have not. Looks like way too much stuff on there that could possibly chaffe, no? I am going to try a CW-X one this weekend though. Either the bra feels great and supportive and chaffs/rubs OR it is fine, but no support.

Well, I don't run far enough yet to make a really good case for them, but I think the main thing is that since nothing moves, nothing chafes. I haven't had a problem with my arms chafing with anything (not that you mentioned it, but some others have at other times with other bras.)
I'd even let you try one of mine if our sizes are compatible. If you want to know what Enell size you are, and their sizes are completely different from regular bras, check their website www.enell.com

The fiona bra/ 3 reasons bra chaffed on the straps. :( not the acctual bra. I just need some duct tape i guess instead.

I can see the Fiona chafing with the straps, where the adjustable fastening part meets the strap, I'd say.
The enell straps don't move either. In fact, when I first tried it, I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get enough air. That never was a problem, but I was definitely worried to start. It's like a straight-jacket for boobies :)

I am so mystified by the strap-chafing on the Fiona. I never get chafing there, not even when I've been in the rain. :(
Gingerbread
03-10-2007, 10:37 PM
Well, I haven't had any chafing with it yet, but I remember thinking it was possible when I put it on. However, it's quite soft material and I've only worn it for two runs so far, and they weren't very long. If it's anything 6+ miles or more I opt for the enell. I haven't been caught out with it waiting to be washed yet. Also, the clasp at the back did have a very tiny bit of rubbing on my back on one of the runs. I don't think it was the actual clasp but the part that extends past the clasp where it presses against ones back fat (if one has any, and I think I do :) )

Gingerbread
03-11-2007, 12:24 AM
That makes sense, though. I'm going to compare the Fiona and the enell and let you know if the straps sit in different spots on the shoulders/collar bones. The lack of movement with the enell bodes well for it though regardless of strap placement.

I do get severe chafing (bleeding) down where the clasps hook underneath the bra-- but that only started when I lost weight (esp in the chest area :( ) so I think it is a bra size issue not a bra issue. (Was wearing a size 2, now it's on the border between size 1 and 2... was going to wait until I was definatively a size 1 to invest in a new one)
Gingerbread

Quix, that chafing does sound like a size issue. I wear a size 1 and it's too tight to wear around (not to mention the uniboob) but just right for running.

I ordered a size 1 yesterday :)
Though, hell if I know why I lose weight from my breasts and no where else. Arg. And if I gain weight again, it won't go back to my breasts, it will go elsewhere. It's the darndest thing.

Does that effect it? While I'm dieting, I tend to have like 10% (or 15%) fat in my diet... Maybe I need to add some nuts.
I hate losing it. :(

It might. I tend to eat nuts (pecans, walnuts) in my oatmeal in the morning, and I have a terrible weekness for chocolate. I eat M&Ms most days. 1 serving has probably all the fat one needs in an entire day. I may be exaggerating that. I may be mis-spelling exaggerating. Humph! Seems I can't spell lately.
I also tend to eat Ben&Jerry's Ice Cream with relative frequency, which is in no way healthy for me and certainly has more fat than I need. So, I would say adding just a skosh of fat into your diet may help, and you sound like you are better able to stick with the healthier types of fat than I.
And since I'd rather reduce my boobage, I'd better CTFU and cut way down on my fat intake, primarily the unhealthy fat. Bye, Ben! Bye, Jerry!
Good luck, Quix! I suspect the mens in the forum would appreciate increased boobage reports. Heh!

So I tried the enell today. Ginger is right - a straight jacket for my ta ta's.
It felt a little odd at the start b/c I'm used to my super smooshing Champion Bras (which work great but chafe under he band just below my breasts). But once I got going, I realized that I didn't have to think about the enell bra at.all. No shifting the band, pulling the bra up or down. It just sat right.
Today's run was only 4 miles. I'll be putting in a 10-miler this weekend and get back to you.

Why I just now looked into this forum and say this thread...
After YEARS of testing sports bras, I've finally found the perfect sports bra for me. The best wicking sports bra I've ever head, with perfect support (for my 34C boobage), and very comfortable straps. And it comes in other colors, too.

Cool, LFT.
I can also report that the Moving Comfort Fiona put bruises on my collarbones the last time I wore it. I had more boobage due to pre-menstrual water retention, so had adjusted the straps and the end was in just the wrong place. Otherwise, that bra is reasonably comfortable for shorter runs for me, and the Enell cost $60 which can cause you to hesitate to buy more than one at a time.

heh. I wore it last Sunday or Saturday, whichever day it was I did my 5 mile run and I was contemplating the strap setup. I think if they had the velcro part fasten on top of the strap, rather than underneath the strap, there would not be the bruising and other uncomfortable incidents, not to mention the wardrobe malfunction you have encountered.
I also considered contacting the company and making a suggestion. Because it isn't a bad lower distance bra otherwise.

Thought I'd throw in some comic relief into this thread here...
I was recently at a local Fleet Feet store waiting for the two salesfolks to finish with their existing customers so I could ask about some new shoes. I was at a shelf reading over brochures and info on local races, clubs, etc., when I glanced off to the side and noticed a bunch of different-sized exercise balls.
I grabbed one off the shelf and noticed it was pretty heavy for its size. I had seen some ab video earlier in the day with some lady doing some core work by swinging a weighted ball side-to-side in a sit-up position, so I duplicated this motion with this ball to see how it felt.
Suddenly, I noticed a label of some sort in the back of this ball; I looked closer and noticed the words "A Cup". I glanced around and put two-and-two together - I was in the sports bra section, and those balls, including the one I was swinging around, were used for fitting/sizing purposes. DOH!!!
