My new shoes arrived Saturday....

... and I debuted them yesterday on a 2+ hour trail run.

They are Brooks Cascadia 2's, and I love them. They were perfect on the trails.

But when I first got them out of the box and wore them around the house, my kids snickered at me. "Your new shoes are very..... bright.... mom."

And I discovered partway through the run that my local running store had spoiled me by always relacing my new shoes with a lace-lock pattern before I left. My shoelaces seemed to come untied more frequently. Not sure if it's really the lacing pattern, or if those bright shoelaces are more slippery.

I started to buy a pair yesterday but didn't some of you say they don't last 400 miles, which is what I expect my shoes to last at a minimum.

Is it possible for cascadia's to last 400 or should I look at another trail shoe?

i guess everyone is different. Most people say Brooks in general do not last that long. I am now alternating them with road shoes and only wearing the cascadias on trails. My cascadias get about 300-350 miles and the road shoes 400-ish. They are going to redesign the Cascadia for next year (early) and use the Mogo technology in the road shoes and they should last longer.

altoids, that's why I bought my black shoes. I was tired of white with boring colors. Now they don't make black ones for women in the brand I have. Just for men. This annoys me. However, I'm glad you love your shoes :)
