Don't try to do the run after the supper and beer, Moe. That might not go over as well.

I had a great run last night. 7.5 miles up and down some nice hills. The weather was great, and I still felt really strong at the end. Also, the run put me over 100 miles for August. I'm quite happy with that...

So, yesterday I mentioned that I was thinking of shooting for the Route 66 Marathon in Tulsa OK for this fall. It fits my 3 criteria for a marathon: A) It's in a nice, random state; 2) It's on a weekend when I've got nothing better to do; and D) I can use Frequent Flier miles to get there.

I think I already know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway: Does anybody know anything about this race? Nobody here has run it, I doubt. But do you know anyone who has? Just asking...

I may hit the pool today. I may also need another day off. We'll see...

Great runs to all!

3 miles done. I don't know how some of you guys can run every day. The past 2 weeks I have adjusted my weekday runs and ran 3 days in a row. By the 3rd day, I'm pooped!

Bard, I don't know how they do it either...but it is getting easier now that I'm running a lot of days in a row...or a lot of runs in a row (like today is my thrid run in 2 days.)

Maureen, I ran your 2 miles this morning. I was exhausted so I didn't get up in time for the 4 to 6 miles I was aiming for. So I decided that 2 was better than nothing. Belly felt a little unsettled (probably dehydrated from beer, nachos, and mac-n-chee yesterday). Stopped at a red light and ending up talking to a random woman there about her daughter who runs track at Coppin State. Saw a neighbor later...

2 miles, belly grumbles, stop & chat = Maureen run to me!

Nice runs, Rand & Bard! Way to top 100, boB!

Don't worry about me girls; once Fall and Winter get here, and every day begins with cold, dark, dismal rain, I'll be taking plenty of mornings off.

Hi all..nice runs already!!!

I've not been running well in the last few days--I've been rather upset for a few reasons (none of which I'll expound on here) and it's affecting my running. Yesterday was supposed to be 7 and it was cut to 4.5. Today is supposed to be 5...I hope it goes better. Isn't running supposed to help stress?

Bob--you continue to amaze me with how fast your progress is!!

Moe--I have various people I think of when I run during tough, windy or certain conditions...I'll add you to the 2 mile list (can I still think of you without the belly grumbles?)

Gotta head to work early today--running later in the a.m. Good runs to all.

M---

Good Morning! It seems like yesterday was interval day around here, I'm guessing that is making today a recovery day for most of us.

10 miles to get in this morning, nice and easy, nothing too exciting, I CAN NOT allow PTom to top my mileage again this week, though, unacceptable that was! I need to keep my eye on him and his sudden crazy mileage.

Have good runs today people!

Oh geeze, don't remind me! I am not looking forward to running at 5am in those conditions!

5 recovery last night and 8.6 easy this morning. Glad to be resting tomorrow.

Speaking of sunrises, rand, this morning's was gorgeous! I even stopped to soak it all in.

Mornin'. 5 miles in gorgeous weather. Then pushups. I need coffee now.

Ask your doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

4.7 miles this morning with 7 hill repeats. My legs feel pretty thrashed by it. I wanted 8 hill repeats, but time and seeing my splits on the 6th and 7th plus with how my legs were beginning to feel, I decided to forego the 8th repeat. Still a good workout.

Good luck at the doc, Moe
Great running already today, everyone!

I did not do intervals yesterday -- my speedwork was today. Total of about 8+ miles with some tempo-pace miles in the middle. My splits were dead on, and it seemed to get a bit easier as the run went on. I'll take it.

If today was perfect, there would be no need for tomorrow.

Just got back from 6. I was so close to not going. So much on my mind and yada yada yada. But this was the fastest 6 ever. Maybe I just needed to run and let my mind "run" so to speak. I guess that's another way of saying it was a theraputic run.

Was yours all stripey and crinkly like mine? All reds and pinks and oranges and purples on a bright blue background?

It was something else!

If I didn't have to get The Possum moving off to camp for the next to last day, I would have gone out and photo'd it.

If you read between the lines, what's she's really saying is "I can't let some non-marathoner run more miles than me!"

The berfday party was a great success. She would start yelling out "to ME!" as we sang happy birthday, she went to town on the cake like a pit bull on a pork chop, she completely freaked out with the candles but then became an expert candle-extinguisher (since we did it about 38 times!). All in all, a fun day.

Couple of easy runs the next 3 days and then time to release the hounds on Sunday morning in the half marathon. The weather looks good for it so I'm pumped.

The sunrise was kind of cool today, but damnit it's got to stop this coming up later and later each day.

I'm going to have to start moving some runs to the afternoons or do some early morning dark runs at the high school track.
