What has Happened?

I can't believe it's been almost three weeks since I've run! What happened? Well, after my last run, I got a terrible cough - that I was afraid would move to my sinuses and my lungs. I was scheduled to go to Florida for a scuba diving trip and well, sinus problems and diving don't mix! So, I took the week off and sucked down alka seltzer plus to make sure it didn't occur - that was week one.

Week two - when I returned, I still had some congestion and then left for Las Vegas for 4 days with some customers - We played golf for three days - drank for three nights and gambled in between - that doesn't mix well with running (it was for business)

Week three? The last three days - I've been traveling and no running has been available at all.

So - almost three weeks with no running. Tomorrow, this must change. I'm finally done traveling until the first week of May - so I have to keep focused and try to figure out how to get back on track to cut weight.

I don't like losing and I don't like not finishing my goal.

Here's to finding my way back on the road.

Dave, I've been totally derailed. I get up in the morning to catch a flight to Germany - My uncle passed away so I'm heading there for 8 days. It'll be the May before I will have a chance to run again - almost a month of no running. I can't believe how life simply got in the way of my goal...

Sorry to hear about your uncle. Prayers to go to you and family. Safe travels.

The good thing about running, you can take running shoes with you anywhere.

Rich - How is you road back to running going? I haven't seen you post.

Dave - I just returned from Germany. Body is still recovering from that. I am leaving today for Ohio for two more days. I've been derailed and need to figure out how to get it back. It's the first time this has happened so not sure how to find the 'umpf' again.

Dude!

I can soooo relate.

When my dad died, it really hit my training.

Then, on top of that, I was sick...bad sick, so it was easy not to do anything because I really couldn't.

It took awhile before I got back on the horse again, but you just have to get out the door and work on reestablishing the habit first.

Then go for performance goals after that.

Now, I'm dealing with what I think might be a bean sprout in my head and am trying to figure out whether to do my 5k tonight as a test.

Go...

Run..

Walk...

hit it!

Good luck to you and never give up. It's going to be tough to get back on that horse, but once you do, you'll get that passion you had before.
